It is that time of year again. Unfortunately, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, this year’s installment of the Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival has been cancelled. We look forward to the return next year when we expect to be celebrating Doc Adams induction onto the National Baseball Hall of Fame. It’s that time of year again. Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival CANCELLED!

Sadly, the 23rd Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival that is held at Old Bethpage Village Restoration has been CANCELLED. The Festival has fallen victim to the Coronavirus pandemic. The longest running Vintage Base Ball festival was renamed in honor of Doc Adams in 2015. This is an important year as hopefully Doc will be elected by the Early Base Ball Era Committee in December for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2021. We’ll look forward to the 2021 Festival!

Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival Is On!

The 23rd Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival will take place at Old Bethpage Village Restoration on August 1-2. The longest running Vintage Base Ball festival was renamed in honor of Doc Adams in 2015. This is an important year as hopefully Doc will be elected by the Early Base Ball Era Committee in December for induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2021.

The boys and girls of summer returned to Old Bethpage Village Restoration for the 22nd Annual Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival. The festival has provided many great memories in recent years. It was a beautiful weekend. The air was filled with friendly chatter and smiles abounded. Players, both artists and muffins, and cranks alike had a great time. You can see some more photos here. If you are looking for some outdoor fun this weekend, head out to Lamson Farm Day in Mont Vernon, NH, the birthplace of Doc Adams. Lamson Farm Day will be held on Saturday and the weather looks to be spectacular. In 2017, the Inaugural Doc Adams Invitational was held in Doc’s hometown of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. Mark September 29 on your calendar… In 2017, the Inaugural Doc Adams Invitational was held in Doc’s hometown of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. This year, Mont Vernon is pleased to add Vintage Base Ball to their annual Lamson Farm Day. Lamson Farm Day, the last Saturday in September, is a Mont Vernon day of festivity at the Lamson Farm with displays by various groups in town. Two games will be played between the New Hampshire Granite and the Providence Gray Vintage Base Ball teams. Even rain couldn’t dampen the spirits for the 2018 Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival held at Old Bethpage Village Restoration on August 4 & 5. This was the 21st installment of the longest running annual vintage base ball festival of its kind. In 2015, the festival was renamed in honor of Doc Adams.  Marjorie Adams once again was on-hand this year as she continued to educate festival attendees about her great-grandfather, Doc Adams, a long-overlooked founding father of our National Pastime.
