The Doc Adams Birthplace Classic was planned to be held on Saturday, September 28, in Doc’s hometown as part of Lamson Farm Day. Unfortunately, unforeseen events have led to the cancellation of this year’s event. After much discussion and consideration, it is with regret that we inform the followers of this page [The Knickerbocker Experience Facebook page] and the good folks of Mont Vernon, NH, that the Knickerbocker Experience will not be holding a game on Lamson Farm Day on September 28th. Annual Old Time Base Ball Festival Renamed in Honor of Doc Adams

The Old Time Base Ball Festival held at Old Bethpage Village Restoration is the longest running Vintage Base Ball Festival of its kind having its inaugural event in 1997. Teams from across the country come to play various different versions of old-time base ball from the 1850s to 1890s. Starting in 1979 as a Civil War reenactment, it evolved into a recreation of the 1864 base ball league made up of teams that existed on the island back in that time period. Shout Out To Lamson Farm Day

Today, Lamson Farm Day is being celebrated in Doc Adams’ hometown of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. The Doc Adams Birthplace Classic is traditionally held in conjunction with this event. However, as noted previously, this year’s games were temporarily moved to the Doc Adams Memorial, held on September 16. We will all miss the pilgrimage to Doc’s hometown this year but look forward to its return next year. Wishing the folks in Mont Vernon a wonderful and successful Lamson Farm Day today.
