A great article that expresses support for Doc’s inclusion in the Hall. Only five days until the Pre-integration Era Committee gathers at the Winter meetings to vote on this year’s ballot. This, as the MLB Winter Meetings and voting by the Pre-integration Era Committee on Doc and the 9 other candidates on this year’s ballot rapidly approaches. The committee will announce its results on December 7.

Hall of Fame Timeline

Doc Adams was named on the Pre-Integration Era Committee this week, so, here’s a quick update on the upcoming timeline of National Baseball Hall of Fame events. On December 7, 2015, the 16-member Pre-Integration Era Committee will be voting on the list of 10 candidates, headlined by Doc Adams, at the Major League Baseball Winter Meetings in Nashville, TN. The Hall of Fame will announce the candidates that have been selected by the Pre-Integration Committee for enshrinement in the Hall. Doc Adams To Appear On Hall Of Fame Ballot

Today the National Hall of Fame announced the candidates on the 2016 Pre-integration Era ballot. Daniel Lucius ‘Doc’ Adams was named as one of the 10 candidates. This marks a major milestone in the efforts to have Doc recognized with enshrinement. For a more detailed announcement read DOC ADAMS HELPED SHAPE BASEBALL’S EARLIEST DAYS. Thanks to everyone who has supported Doc and made this step possible. 170th Anniversary of the Knickerbockers

On September 23, 1845, by virtue of its constitution and by-laws, the Knickerbocker Base Ball Club was officially formed. Considered by most baseball historians to have been the first officially organized base ball (2 words in the 19th century) club; whether or not the Knickerbockers were the first, their pioneering influence on the development of our National Pastime in its earliest days is certainly agreed upon.
