2011: Doc Adams Day

On September 10, 2011, the Friends of Vintage Base Ball celebrated the contributions of the “Nestor of Ball Players” Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams. Adams family members, Marjorie Adams and Nancy Adams Downey, were present for the tribute to a player who helped develop modern baseball.

A facsimilie of the "Nestor of Ball Players" document presented to Daniel Lucius "Doc" Adams by the Knickerbocker Base Ball Club, the original of which was lost after it was donated to Yale University i the 1950s.
