On Thursday, August 10th at 7:30 PM, in the Fire Station Meeting Room, the Mont Vernon Historical Society will present guest speaker, Marjorie Adams, who will give a PowerPoint presentation on her Great-Grandfather, Dr. Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams. Doc Adams was born in Mont Vernon in 1814. He and his father practiced medicine in Mont Vernon before he moved to Boston. He is recognized as the author of “Laws of Base Ball”. Saturday, September 23 (rain date Sunday, September 24), beginning at 10 AM, at Lamson Farm, Vintage Base Ball Games will be played according to Doc Adams rules and the customs of 1864. There is no charge. Food vendors will be there and picnics are welcome. You are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to sit on.
