Fairfield County Bank Introduces Doc Adams Days
“Fairfield County Bank hosted their first ‘Doc Adams Days’ with the Bridgeport Bluefish at the Ballpark at Harbor Yard. Doc Adams Days celebrate the bank’s first President. On Tuesday, July 18th, the inaugural event hosted over 30 eight to nine year old girls and boys from Bridgeport’s Cardinal Shehan Center. The youngsters enjoyed a morning baseball clinic with Bridgeport Bluefish players and the game between the Bridgeport Bluefish and Somerset Patriots.” For more on the event, read “Fairfield County Bank is proud to introduce Doc Adams Days” on the Ridgefield’s Hamlet Hub.
In 1871, Doc was elected the first president of the Ridgefield Savings Bank (now the Fairfield County Bank where his photograph still hangs in the Ridgefield office.) He served in that capacity for ten of the next fifteen years, left for five years, returned for two more, retiring from his banking career in July 1886.
