The 2024 Annual Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival
The 2024 Annual Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival was held last weekend (August 3-4) at Old Bethpage Village Restoration.
In 2015, this longest running annual vintage base ball festival of its kind was renamed in honor of Daniel Lucius ‘Doc’ Adams. This year’s festival once again lived up its reputation as a must see for baseball fans, history buffs, and anyone looking for a day of outdoor fun.
It was hot, hot, hot and the ballists and cranks did their best to keep cool and stay hydrated. But even the heat couldn’t put a damper on the event and per usual, everyone had a great time.
Saturday was made extra special as it was declared “Doc Adams Day” per proclamation by Nassau County Executive, Bruce Blakeman. On hand at the event to present it was Dave Franklin, Deputy Commissioner of Nassau County Parks, Recreation and Museums.
The event provided an opportunity to make “A Pitch Fos Doc Adams“. For more photos from the event, visit our 2024 Doc Adams Old Time Base Ball Festival page.
As we continue to honor Doc Adams, the long-overlooked founding father of the National Pastime, we hope to be able to honor a new Hall of Famer next year.
