Marjorie Adams on Baseball and BBQ Podcast
On March 8, 2021, Marjorie Adams appeared on the Baseball and BBQ podcast to discuss her great-grandfather and baseball pioneer, Daniel Lucius ‘Doc’ Adams, MD, with Leonard Aberman, Jeff Cohen, and special guest Jeff ‘Pinetar’ Kornhaas.
The podcast can be heard here: Baseball and BBQ Episode #87: Marjorie Adams, Baseball Royalty, Steve Ray from Owls Nest BBQ and Gary Looney from Angels Spring Training Camp.
The group discusses Doc Adams’ life, his contributions to the game of baseball, and the hopes of having him inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2022. It is a very engaging and enjoyable discussion and well worth a listen.
The segment with Marjorie starts at the beginning of the podcast and runs for about fifty-three minutes.
From ‘Baseball and BBQ’:
Marjorie Adams was the great-granddaughter of Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams who wrote the 1857 “Laws of Base Ball” as well as creating the shortstop position and is considered to be one of baseball’s founders. The original “Laws of Base Ball” were sold at an auction in 2016 for $3.26 million. Despite all of this, he is still not a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame, but if our guest has anything to do with it, that blatant over site will soon be corrected. This interview would not be possible without the introduction provided by our episode 86 guest, Jeff Kornhaas who we all know as Pinetar. Pinetar sits in with us and adds his wonderful contributions to a conversation we hoped would never end. Please enjoy our talk with someone we consider to be as close to baseball royalty as one can get.
