Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams First, Gunsmoke Second
I want to get Doc’s story out there. I want to educate people so that automatically when they hear the name Doc Adams, they don’t think of Gunsmoke first. They think of Gunsmoke second. You see, that’s okay, Gunsmoke was a very fine television program.
It didn’t last as long as Doc did playing base ball but, I don’t think, I’d have to check that with Wikipedia. …
I will just keep hammering away, you know it’s like throwing those dirty socks up at the ceiling. Some of them got to stick sometimes. And someday they will.
You never know. Maybe he’d be a voter. Or, one person will hear this, who knows one person, and that’s fine. I mean I know I’m not reaching 10 million people, wouldn’t it be great if we were? But, if I reach one person who says, “wow, I know so and so”, I mean, or maybe someone who writes for a newspaper and the next time they hear the name “Doc Adams” they’ll go “Gee, I heard that podcast and website, DocAdamsBaseBall.org.”
My Baseball History – Episode 202, Marjorie Adams
Well, search engine ranking is dynamic but, today, there was a first. All three major search engines (Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo) ranked Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams BEFORE Milburn Stone when searching for “Doc Adams”! Hopefully, we can maintain that ranking as we continue the education campaign. We wish Marjorie was here to see it. Continued progress.
We still need to do a little more work with Google since, although Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams ranks highest, our site is right behind “Milburn Stone”, the other Doc Adams.
A search of “Doc Adams baseball” does place us on top of all engines.
By the way, if you go to Wikipedia.com and do a search for “Doc Adams”, it brings you right to Daniel Lucius ‘Doc’ Adams!
