The Knickerbockers Base Ball Club (with Doc Adams) and New York Nine played what is often referred to as the first recorded, organized base ball match game on June 19, 1846, at the Elysian Fields, Hoboken, New Jersey.

However, recent research challenges whether this was actually the first, or an intramural vs. match game, or even the first under the Knickerbocker rules.

The New York Nine defeated the Knickerbockers 23-1 in four innings. Below is the box score from that game.
