The Doc Adams Birthplace Classic took place Saturday, September 24 in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire and marked the debut of The Knickerbocker Experience at the event.

The weather was beautiful and it was another outstanding event! The Dirigo Base Ball Club of Maine and The Knickerbocker Experience entertained the cranks in attendance with their skills and love of the game.

The Doc Adams Birthplace Classic is an annual celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Daniel Lucius Adams, an early founder of base ball and native son of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. This event is conducted both with and for the many fine players who engage in 19th Century Base Ball in support of the push for the rightful enshrinement of Doc Adams in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Daniel Lucius ‘Doc’ Adams was born in Mont Vernon, New Hampshire on November 1, 1814 to Daniel Adams, MD and Nancy Mulliken Adams. He and his family lived there until 1846 when they moved to Keene, New Hampshire.

The Doc Adams Birthplace Classic which originated in 2016 and was first held in Doc’s hometown of Mont Vernon, New Hampshire in 2017. The Birthplace Classic is now part of the annual Lamson Farm Day. Lamson Farm Day, the last Saturday in September, is a Mont Vernon day of festivity at the Lamson Farm with displays by various groups in town.
