Recognize Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams as a pioneer of our National Pastime.

In seeking the origins of our National Pastime, it is important to search out and recognize the pioneers who were instrumental in its formation rather than perpetuate myths and half-truths and elect Doc Adams. Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams was an early pioneer of our National Pastime, the great game of baseball, and should be recognized as such with enshrinement in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

Doc Adams was an American baseball player and executive who is regarded by historians as an important figure in the sport's early years. He played an important role during the seminal years of the game and his contributions are as significant as those of other early pioneers, such as Henry Chadwick, who already enshrined in the Hall.

The first step to enshrinement is to have him included on the 2022 National Baseball Hall of Fame Early Baseball ballot. We therefore petition the BBWAA
Historical Overview Committee to evaluate the accomplishments and contributions of Doc Adams and include him on the 2022 ballot so that he may be considered, voted on and ultimately selected by the Early Baseball Era Committee for induction into the Hall of Fame.

In the spirit getting to the truth about the roots of the game and acknowledging those men were instrumental in formulating our National Pastime, please ensure Daniel Lucius “Doc” Adams gets his long overdue plaque. His plaque should be hanging along side the other baseball immortals in the The Plaque Gallery, the sacred ground for baseball fans where the bronze plaques of the Hall of Famers line the oak walls and visitors speak in hushed, reverential tones.
