My Old Knickerbocker Friend,
My twenty fifth anniversary of membership in the Old Knickerbocker Base Ball Club of New York will occur on Monday the 27 inst. I greatly desire to meet all my old Base Ball associates on this occasion, and I cordially invite you to be present and participate in the game at 3 PM, after which a collation will be served at Duke’s Hotel Hoboken (first house from the ferry) at 6 PM.
I really hope you will favor me with your company, and revive old associations and memories dear to all lovers of the game in the good old Knickerbocker style.
Please signify your acceptance of this invitation, while I remain

Yours Very Truly,
James Whyte Davis

Our grounds may be reached by Hoboken Ferries, thence by Cars up Washington St to 8th St. Leaving the car on left hand side and crossing 4 blocks, you will see an enclosed ground, upon which the old Knickerbocker flag will salute and welcome you. Should the weather be very stormy, the event will occur on the following Friday.
